| | Just spent the last 2 days tr5aveling around Galilee and the northern part of Israel. Flippin amazing. We visited far too many places to list, but particularly cool was Capernaum, where they've found Peter's mother in law's house, where Jesus lived whilst doing his ministry, the place where Jesus sent demons into pigs and they all round down a hillside and drowned, and today, visiting some of the nature reserves, and the ancient Israelite city of Dan. This was particularly impressive, not only because they've found the palce of the altar and 'high places' that King Jerobaum set up (read from 1 Kings 11:25 if you're interested)", but also an ancient mud brick gate to the old city that stood there before the Danites sacked it (Judges 18). Experts also believe that this is where the gate Abraham would have gone through to rescue Lot (Genesis 14). Pretty cool, huh?
Also very intesrsting was visinting Israeli bunkers in the Golan heights (mountains right on the border with Syria) and learnign all about the political history. It really gave me a much better appreciation for the situation here, and I feel I can understand a little better how the Israelis and Arabs feel.
In other news, we had a great barbeque on friday at the beach. Loads of students turned up and lots of spiritual conversations were had. One girl even left praying that god would reveal to her whether or not Jesus was the messiah!
I hear Britain's pretty rainy at the mo. I have a tan and today I got sunburnt
